You are so Beautiful

So on Saturday as I sat sewing my guts out getting ready for Fall Quilt Market. My Sewing Machine decided to not sew. It stopped and refused to start. So I patiently took the whole thing apart and oiled it and cleaned it and put it back together. And miraculously it still did not sew. So on Sunday I tried again I oiled it and took it apart and put it back together and this time it worked it sewed. Only this time the fabric wouldn't feed through. Well, I gave up for that day. Monday I figured out that the feed dogs had decided to not come up all the way anymore. I do lower and raise them a lot. Well, this machine is not super duper fabulous and I only paid about $200 for it so I decided it was not worth getting it fixed. Which led to me wanting to do this Because I went over to the trusty Bernina store and purchased This
Isn't it beautiful.  Thats what I thought too.  I haven't sewn on it yet.  I am afraid that when I do I won't be able to stop.  It is an Aurora 440 Quilters Edition.  I read the owners manual for 2 hours.  I read it over and over.  I put all my precious little presser feet in the little box and I laid in my bed with a smile on my face.  I also had a bit of a stomach ache because beautiful sewing machines do not cost $200.  Just so you know!

Why, oh Why

So you know I have 5 kids. I didn't realize how much damage they could do. For some odd reason they really like to break things. Especially my things. And especially these three boys that I had right in a row. Usually they break things that mean a lot to me or that I really need. For example a few weeks ago they ruined my round brush that I use every day to do my hair. They totally smashed it. Or they ruin things with spray paint which if you go back far enough on this blog you can witness. Well, about a week or so ago my broom came up missing. So I bought a new one a couple days ago and low and behold if those little buggers didn't break that dang broom in half. I just do not know what would posess 3 little boys to break a broom in half, but I am not a little boy and I have never been a little boy so I guess I would never know. For lack of my camera being out of commission right now all you get is a picture of the broom I wish I had so I could fly away to a place where little boys do not break my stuff. Even my broom. Which I need to sweep up the crumbs that they leave all over the floor.

Hopefully my next post will be sooner and be full of happiness!!!

Puppies

About ten days ago My dads dog Gus and our dog Kate became the proud parents of 7 yes 7! Llewellin Setter puppies. Oh man are they cute. They are a little bit of a rare breed. You see my maiden name is Llewllyn. It is Welsch. These Setters are the only true breed of setters left in the world. We actually purchased ours from a very good kennel in Arkansas, and had them flown here as puppies. So here are some pics of the dad, he is the one in the kennel. The mom, she is the one my dad has a hold of. And of the cute little 7 dwarfs. In a few days I will post a few pics when their eyes get open. We love our Llewellin Setters. They are the best family/hunting dogs you could ask for. They are very loving and loyal.

Summer

We have had a pretty fun summer. Spent a little time at Grandpas Cabin, a little time at the ball park (oh I mean a lot of time at the ball park) Done a little water sliding. And just a little general goofing off. This mom has not gotten anything done though. I am ready for some serious mom/sewing/time!!

Bittersweet

Well, I have opened my own quilt pattern company. I know crazy huh! I think it's crazy anyway. For those of you that don't know, I have been designing quilts for Izzy & Ivy Designs a while now. Well, I am going out on my own. It will surely be an adventure. My new company is called Sweet Ruby Designsand I hope to be having a booth at Spring Quilt Market next year in Salt Lake City. Cross your fingers. I will soon be posting my patterns on the site over there so if you know anyone interested direct them my way. And say a prayer or two cuz I am sure I will need it.

Update

Oh no I did not die. I know some of you might wish I had. But I am still here. I am just busy. I do a few things here and there you know. Here is a quick update on life. I got myself a new toy. A laptop. And it sure hasn't helped me blog more, but it has helped me try and straighten out the books at my husbands business. I have written 4 more quilt patterns that are supposed to be coming out at quilt market at the end of the month, but I am not sure if they are or not. The quilts will be there though and after market I will be sure and do a lovely post and show you how fab they are. At least I think they are fab. My children are playing a lot of sports. Baseball, soccer, dance. We are all over the place. One more dance competition to go and we are done with those. Kenadee has taken first place in her solo at every competition though. And that is quite exciting. She is in the top category for her age, so there is some tough competition. My baby is old. 7 months. She of coarse is still the cutest thing ever, and the best baby there ever was. She smiles always and shows off her dimples. She also sleeps 7 to 8 hours every night. I don't really deserve her. Oh, wait yes I do because I have those 3 crazy boys that spray paint my house and stuff. I also got this really cool camera and so here are some of the pics we have taken with it!

Toot! Toot!

I don't do this very often. Or, maybe I do and I just don't want to know that I do. Anyway. Here it is. My horn.
Have any of you seen this

It is the Poppin' Posies Quilt from Izzy n Ivy. Designed by Me, Myself, and I. Yes, me!!! I am lucky enough to have some fabulous friends that let me ride their coat tails and design quilts for their pattern company. I absolutely love quilting. I love to figure out what little piece I want to go where. I actually dream about them at night.
I should have about 5 more quilt patterns coming out at Spring Quilt Market this Spring. For you non quilty people Quilt Market is where all the quilt shops go to purchase all the new fabrics and patterns for the upcoming season, and if you want to get your patterns known in the quilty world that is where you go. Izzy n Ivy had a booth at fall Market, but I was not there due to the fact that Ava was about 2 days old. The booth was phenomenol and won Best New Booth Award.

I always think that I am going to put more of my quilting things on my blog but I never do. I am going to try harder though. First I have to remember to take pics of things. I should now though because I have a fab new camera to do that with. Anywho go and check out all the cutest patterns that Izzy n Ivy have and where to purchase them!!!

Randomness

Thoughts for today

*I like to eat broccoli, but my gall bladder does not.

*I think everyone should wear polka dot pajamas and mismatched socks.

*It should either snow a lot or the sun should come out.

*Fabric makes me smile.

Over Christmas break my cousin and his fam came to visit. It was like being on a staycation. We had a fab time doing things with them. One day we went to Soldier Hollow to go tubing. Here we all are after they got done with their fun times.

These two cuties posed for this pic at the fam christmas party for me. Don't they have big muscles.

I cannot believe how big my little baby is getting. She has found her hands and now constantly eats them. I should be humble about her but I can't. I think she is the cutest thing ever, and I spoil her rotten. And I don't even care.

Blessings!

So the past few Sundays I have been giving my husband this lecture on going to church. I start out with the line "I have made an executive decision, We are not going to miss church anymore." I go on and on and then I get into the part about how if we want blessings that we need to get up and get going and all that jazz.
Well this Sunday wasn't any different. We got to church, made it through the whole thing. Got out to the car. Put the key in and nothing. The battery was dead. I have been having a little bit of a car issue lately. I had to have my doors all fixed and then that led to the light and the dinger not turning off ever. Well, I guess the light had decided to come on while we were in church.
My dear husband decided to walk home and get his truck to come and jump us. We only live about 5 blocks away so don't be feeling to bad. I guess he got home to find that his truck had a dead battery. Lucky for us (maybe that is not quite the right term) my grandma lives in an apartment attached to our house. She is in Califonia visiting my uncle for a month. Brandon ran over and got her keys to borrow her car. Any of you that have seen my hubby know that he is quite a large guy. Especially compared to my smallish grandma. So when he climbed in her car he hit his head on her garage door opener. He didn't realize what he had hit his head on. He continued to back out of the garage and of course the garage door was going down from the head hitting. So the back of grandmas car is now missing the fin and has some nice scratches up the trunk. The garage door is nice and rounded and had to be put back on track. Lucky for us it does go up and down now and doesn't look to bad after some banging.
He did finally make it back to get us at the church. Luckily it wasn't too cold and no one noticed us (the mechanics family) sitting in our car that was not running. The first words out of his mouth were. "What about all those blessings for going to church!" Pictures to follow

A New Year

Oh the new year is here. My new year is totally going to be soooo different than last year. First off my friend talked me into going to Zumba at the Community Center with her. It is 3 times a week at 6:30 in the morning. It is super fun. But man is my butt sore, and my legs, and my stomach, and pretty much all of me. I guess that means it is working. I am not motivated to get up and go to things, but if someone is picking me up then I will go.

Next big change.......... My husband owns his own business and it has become necessary for my to work in his office for him. I don't really mind. I mean it is our livelyhood. The only downfall to this is that I am not really a scheduled kind of a person. You know I really am a fly by the seat of my pants kinda girl. I like to just flit around town and visit all my friends. Hang out at the flower shop and the quilt shop and do whatever my little heart desires.

I do clean my house, and cook, and be a mom sometimes....

So now I get to be a REAL grown up. I have to do the laundry at a certain time and all the other chores. And I have to get up. I hope I can figure this out. Thank goodness I have a angel for a baby. I mean her middle name is Angela, she ought to be an angel. So wish me luck on my journey of working everyday, I will try to not hurt my husband while I am with him constantly.
